DISCUSSGAB....
is not really a word. People do two things in forums.
They DISCUSS (which may be derived from the Middle English discussen
meaning "to examine" and the Latin discussus meaning to "strike assunder"). And they GAB (which
may be derived from the Anglo-Saxon gaf-spræc, meaning "foolish speech"). On rare occassions,
people DISCUSS GAB, but both usually find it difficult to live in perfect harmony. And so it goes with many of
the forums that have been devoted to the subject of Andy Kaufman over the years. Frequently, it is the intent of
the forum administrator to provide forums for DISCUSSION, but time and time again, the GAB (and worse), taints
the proceedings and eventually destroys the original intent of the forum administrator and thus the forum itself.
In order to meet the needs of the people that GAB and the people that DISCUSS, CAKS provides three forums tailored
to these relative interests.

UPDATE....New Forum Here!
If you haven't heard, CAKS
has a brand new forum as of January 1, 2002. This forum replaces all the previous forums (except the Cesspool
Spectacular Forum). You can get there by clicking here. Links for the old forums appear below, but take note that they will be closed
very shortly. Most of the posts from these old forums (again, except for the Cesspool Spectacular Forum) have
been transferred to the new forum. Thank you. |

| A serious discussion forum that addresses aspects
of Andy Kaufman's life other than his work such as issues of "legend" (e.g. did he fake his death?) and
general peripheral subjects (e.g. pranksters who pay tribute to Andy Kaufman). This forum is moderated by Joe Bruno.
Registration is required. |

|
A place for Andy Kaufman fans, an unusual breed
in itself, to post and discuss topics unrelated to Andy Kaufman. This forum is moderated and requires registration. |
|
 |
A rarely moderated forum for all who want to submit
posts without registration. The forum is a mix of gab and discussion with an emphasis on the former. Although this
is somewhat a free-for-all for posting, participants should avoid profanity. |
